Jaimala the Visionary leader and social entrepreneur, is the co-founder and Trustee Secretary of Vatsalya Society an NGO established for the education and rehabilitation of Street Children and children from difficult circumstances. She has been main force in impacting lives of thousands of children and women. She founded two organizations Vatsalya (www.vatsalya.org) and Anoothi (www.anoothiindia.com). By qualification, she is an M.Sc (food and nutrition) and an MPH in Public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. She is a Professional member of the Indian Society of Applied Behaviour Sciences (ISABS). She worked at the premior Institute Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur before founding Vatsalya. The Chhoti Maa, as lovingly called by the children, women, and staff of Vatsalya and Anoothi, infuses energy in every person associated with the organization. She has authored the book " Eighteen Million Question Marks, a book dedicated to the life of street children. She has authored three other books also.
Jaimala has completed about 40 research projects including some action research in Reproductive and Child Health, Child Nutrition, and behavior training. Tourists, visitors and young interns come to visit the organization she has founded and flourished from all over the world. Jaimala is married for 35 years and is mother of one son. She loves reading, writing, cooking, singing and above all enthusiastic learner.
Hitesh is one of the Co-Founders of Vatsalya Society and currently working as CEO. He has devoted his life in NPO sector and has lead the projects on Nutrition, Public health management, HIV/AIDS, fortification, skill development and education. He has earned his Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India, and his Master in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at chapel hill, USA. His three-and-a-half-decade career can be divided into two parts; first 15 years in Health Management and thereafter 20 years leading Vatsalya Society. He oversees Vatsalya's management, networking, partnership and project leads in various community projects. He leads the team of 60 people at any point of time. He now loves the role of mentoring young staff, project leaders, interns within and outside of the organization. Hitesh looks after all the due diligence and keeping in pace with ever changing NGO sector in the country.
