Jaimala

Jaimala the social entrepreneur, is co-founder and Trustee Secretary of Vatsalya an NGO established for the education and rehabilitation of Street Children,  and the upliftment of the lives of disadvantaged children and women. She is an M.Sc  in food and nutrition and an MPH in Public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. She is a Professional member of the Indian Society of Applied Behaviour Sciences (ISABS). She worked at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur before founding Vatsalya.  The Chhoti Maa, as lovingly called by the children, women, and staff of Vatsalya, infuses energy in every person associated with the organization.  She managed and lead Vatsalya's flagship program on orphan and abandoned children earlier and continues to counsel children and staff on a regular basis. She has authored the book " Eighteen Million Question Marks,  a  book dedicated to the life of street children. She has authored three other books also.

Jaimala has completed about 35 research projects including some action research in Reproductive and Child Health, Child Nutrition, and behavior training.  After founding the Vatsalya she also founded Anoothi, a social enterprise, which is giving livelihood to over 450 disadvantaged women. 


Hitesh Gupta

Hitesh is one of the Co-Founders of Vatsalya and currently working as CEO. He is a Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India, and has his Master in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, USA. His three-and-a-half-decade career can be divided into two parts; first 15 years in Health Management and thereafter 20 years leading Vatsalya. He did 50+ projects in Health, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, Fortification, and Skill building. He oversees Vatsalya's management, networking, partnership and project leads in various community projects. His passion is proposal writing, data management, report writing, and networking with UN agencies, bilateral agencies, Government, Corporate, and foundations. He is keeping track of the ever-changing NGO sector and ensuring all the necessary compliance in Vatsalya.
