Conference Leadership

Celestino Ruivo

MAIN CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN-1

Professor - Universidade do Algarve | UALG · Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica (DEM)

Prof. Celestino Ruivo Rodriguez is an engineering professor at the University of Algarve, Portugal. He has been "infected" with solar cooking "virus" since 2006, and has become a passionate promotor of solar cooking and solar thermal food processing. He began the conference "CONSOLFOOD" which takes place every second year and bring together people from across the globe : scientists, solar energy experts, solar cooking enthusiasts, and most importantly, the people of regions who may be deprived of access to 'conventional' cooking with the sun shining over them. Both inside and outside his life at University, he has dedicated his time to spreading this solar cooking 'Virus' to everyone around him. He makes 90% of his meals on some of the many reflectors and "pucca" funnel cookers at his rooftop home, and has been successful in creating a global solar cooking movement.

Juan Bello

MAIN CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN-2

Architect, Centro Integrado de Formación Profesional Someso (A Coruña) , Spain

Juan Bello is one of most great enthusiasts of solar cooking in our planet. His passion on solar cooking started in 90's even though he lives in a region where cloudy days are abundant... (Galicia- Spain). He is a Technical Architect (building engineer) and his job is Teacher in the Department of Building and Civil Construction at CIFP Someso, a public Vocational Education and Training (VET) institution belonging to the Xunta of Galicia, Spain. He is also an expert in bioconstruction and uses solar cookers and ovens as very useful tools for learning bioclimatic Design of Buildings

He is serving as the local chairman of CONSOLFOOD 2023 in Spain.

Kartikey Gupta

CONSOLFOOD INDIA CO-ORDINATOR

Director - Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics, Vatsalya

(Engineer/ Educator/ Author/ Climate Researcher/ Amateur Astronomer/ Drummer). Kartikey enjoys a multitude of things and wishes to spread smiles. He leads Vatsalya, which is committed to supporting equitable access across underprivileged communities in Rural Rajasthan through various projects across a variety of UN SDG needs; his personal interest especially focused on climate change mitigation and 'true learning' via hands-on experience-based education to children of daily wage labourers. He has been mentored multiple times directly by Wolfgang Scheffler and Heike Hoedt, and has been working in the area of Solar Energy (PV + Thermal) since 10 years. He is the chief-in-charge of CONSOLFOOD 2023 in Jaipur.
